The Wheel of the Year
May 26th from 4-5:30pm ET/3-4:30pm CT/2-3:30pm MT/1-2:30pm PT

Do you long to get out of extractive, productivity-driven clock time and lean into something real, rooted in Earth's seasons? Please join Rev. Catharine Clarenbach as she introduces the Wheel of the Year, one way of engaging and inhabiting time inspired by Celtic folk traditions and found frequently in Earth-based spiritualities, as in many traditions of Wicca. We'll cover the eight spoke holidays of the year--solstices, equinoxes, and Cross-Quarter days--moving from human experiences of hope in the dark at Yule (winter solstice) all the way around to grief at Samhain (October 31) and back to hope again. This workshop is part of your UUMA membership and free of charge.

About Catharine:

I am a white, European-descended, fat, cis woman, and a sovereign queer femme. In addition to being a UU minister, I am also a priestess in the Stone Circle Tradition of Wicca (USA), initiated in 1999. Other communities that have shaped my spiritual practice and understanding, whether I've been a member or regular guest, are Roman Catholicism, the Religious Society of Friends (Quakerism), la Regla de Ocha/Lucumí/Santeria, Sufi Islam, Reform Judaism, and Episcopalianism.
