Healthy Boundaries 101 (2 day program)
May 18 from 1-6pm ET/ 12-5pm CT/ 11am-4pm MT/10am-3pm PT and May 19th from 4-6:30pm ET/3-5:30pm CT/2-4:30pm MT/1-3:30pm PT

To serve in the role of spiritual leader is a sacred trust. Sometimes, without intending to, we exploit and hurt those we want to teach and nurture by inappropriately crossing boundaries. In this workshop, we will look at what every spiritual leader needs to know about relational boundaries, what boundaries are NOT, and how can we keep from violating boundaries inappropriately.

Facilitators:
Rev. Dr. Kate R. Walker, First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh, PA
Rev. Byron Tyler Coles

Rev. Byron Tyler Coles was born in Roanoke, VA, and is the only child of Monica and Terry. Inspired by the good news of Unitarian Universalism, they believe the best of our collective ministry strives towards conjuring the Beloved Kin-dom on earth as it is in heaven. Tyler has served on the Congregational Life Staff since 2020, first in the Southern Region and now as the Lead of the Central East Region. In these roles, they worked as a member of the Safer Congregations' Team where they supported congregations through crafting and implementing policies that support faithful boundaries and leadership among religious professionals

Rev. Kate has been in active ministry for over 28 years, and serves as a trained Advocate for the UUA, a program offering companionship and guidance for those filing complaints with the MFC against professional UU religious leaders.
