"Faith of The Future: African Americans and Unitarian Universalism"

This year, we are very excited to have Dr. Christopher Cameron as our theme speaker, with lectures from his current book in progress, The Faith of the Future: African Americans and Unitarian Universalism. The topic of the lectures will be:

The Origins of Black Religious Liberalism
African Americans and Unitarianism from the Civil War to WWI
The Rise of Black Universalist and Unitarian Churches
Black Religious Liberalism from the Civil Rights Era to BLM

Our retreat begins on Monday at 4:00 pm as we gather, share a meal and stories, worship, and then enjoy a casual social. We depart to return to our varied ministries on Thursday morning following breakfast and a brief ritual.

We will also be offering virtual access to the retreat, and especially to Dr. Christopher Cameron's lectures, via Zoom. The cost to register as a virtual participant is $125.

More information on Dr. Christopher Cameron, plus how to register, is here.

We welcome you! Our retreat is open to all UUMA members, whether part of the Southwest chapter or not.
