Archbishop Brunett Retreat Center at the Palisades

REGISTRATION FORM: https://forms.gle/dMhxgmvYMRoAfRsS6
Deadline: April 1 -
(No, that's not an April Fool's Day joke! :-)
As always, we need to give Palisades a final count a couple weeks prior to the event.)

Our featured speakers are 'Emma's Revolution.' We'll be encouraged by talented singer songwriter activists Pat Humphries and Sandy O to play with music in our lives, our ministries, and our connections with one another. Their workshop offerings will be accessible, interactive, inspirational and fun.

Come feel restored and renewed through the power of music. Let yourself play with music in a variety of ways – singing songs, leading songs, writing songs – guided gently and playfully by Pat and Sandy. We’ll also consider how music can enhance our social justice work, hear Pat and Sandy’s perspective on the UU world and beyond from their myriad travels, and support each other in tuning into our musical selves.

Here are some videos to catch some of their music and their vibe: https://emmasrevolution.com/videos

Registration information will be sent out in a couple of weeks. Below are some essentials for you, and a question from us. We appreciate your reply.

Schedule essentials

Monday April 15

  • Onsite arrival onsite after 4pm
  • No dinner
  • Evening program with Emma's Revolution at 7:45pm

Thursday, April 19
During this time we will need to decide on members of our Leadership Team.  In addition, we need an deep discussion of the future of this chapter, and so we are going to have time to share our feelings and thoughts as we respond to these questions:

1. What is it that you need from colleagues these days?

2. And what might you be able to bring?

There are about 20-25 people planning to join the retreat in person or online.  Contact Nancy Reid-McKee by email with responses to these questions as well, although I do believe there is more depth to conversations where we can listen and repond to each other.

  • Program ends at noon. Departure after lunch

Fees and Subsidies

Fees have increased and we encourage colleagues to make use of subsidies available. Our colleagues generously support this fund because connecting as a community is a vital part of sustaining our ministries and ourselves.

Full Package, single occupancy            $ 645.00

  • Double occupancy is not worth the extra fee. Ask for a subsidy.

Online participation                                $ 60.00

  • Most collegial components (check ins, business meeting, etc) will be interactive. Given the musical focus of the feature program, the online experience will be less than ideal, reflected in the reduced program fee.

Alternate participation                                $ tbd

  • If your circumstances dictate a different level of onsite participation, we'll be glad to work it out with you, e.g. community minister work obligations, local resident

Please reply and let us know your status (pretty please!):

  1. I plan/hope to attend in person
  2. I plan/hope to attend online
  3. I will not be participating

Please reply to Michael Walker at mwalker@uuma.org. It will help us with planning.
