From Uncertainty to Hope: Circles of Trust for Spiritual Deepening During Precarious Times
Circles of Trust is a small group ministry which explores the inner teacher in each of us and builds compassionate relationships with others. Through personal reflection, deep listening, open and honest questions, and clearness committees, we build trust in our authentic selves and in one another. Circles of Trust draws from the spiritual writing of Quaker Parker Palmer.
Current events in our personal lives and in the world may leave many of us feeling stressed, powerless, broken, and uncertain about the future. Perhaps former habits and relationships no longer serve us well. Here at the start of a new year, as we assess our going forward in life and in ministry, inspired by a range of poetic and spiritual writing to stimulate personal discernment and all-group conversation, we will explore our growing edges, to consider new paradigms and fresh perspectives for finding hope, beauty, and renewed purpose, even in the face of uncertainty. Meeting uncertainty face-to-face, we open to life-giving expansion of our growing edges.
Colleagues of all personal identities, as well as experiences with Circles of Trust, are invited to participate. The first session will include explanation of the basics of Circles of Trust practice before delving into application of these principles. While attendance at all four sessions is encouraged, don’t let unpredictable schedules get in the way of signing up.
